The Story Behind

Born from the love of adventure.

Hi, I’m Roman, the founder of MementoMap.
Beyond my full-time job, I live for the outdoors—cycling, hiking, and planning the next adventure. I like bringing clarity to complex things, and I love the kind of days that remind you how wide and beautiful the world is. MementoMap is my way to hold onto those moments—and share them with the people I love.

How it started

How it started

I grew up spending summers in a small Ukrainian village where the world seemed endless. Every summer I rode my bike a little farther — first to the next street, then to the next forest, and eventually over the next hill and into the next village. That curiosity never left me.

Later, after moving to Germany, I found bikepacking. My first trip was through Italy in 2022, starting in Monclassico and finishing in Rovereto — 120 kilometers, 2,046 meters of climbing, three days of sun (and a little too much wine). That adventure changed how I looked at travel.

The following year I rode part of the Camino de Santiago, combining the sacred routes with my beloved Picos de Europa mountains.
583 kilometers and 10,875 meters of ascent later, I reached the ocean — and felt I had carried a story worth keeping.

In 2024, I chased new roads in Norway, starting from Oslo and following the legendary Milk and Navvies Route — 659 kilometers, 9,860 meters of elevation, and temperatures swinging between 0 and 19 °C. Harsh, cold, and unforgettable.

Why I built MementoMap

Why I built MementoMap

Each of these journeys left me with memories too big for a phone screen.
I wanted a way to remember them — not as data points on Strava, but as something tangible.
A map that shows where I went and what truly mattered.

That’s how MementoMap was born in 2025.
It combines your route data with generative technology to highlight the soul of your adventure.
Every poster is printed on museum-quality matte FSC-certified paper through trusted printing partners across Europe.
You can also receive an instant digital download — ready to print, frame, or share on your own.

A few things I care about

A few things I care about

MementoMap is founder-led, with help from talented people along the way—creative, technical, and friends whose feedback and ideas shaped what you see here.
Your data is handled in the EU and used only to produce your poster—never for marketing.
If a print arrives damaged or not as expected, I’ll replace or refund it. As a custom product, not every case qualifies for a refund, but I’ll always aim for a fair, human solution.

A final word

A final word

MementoMap isn’t just an online shop.
It’s a small tribute to adventure — to every early-morning start, every climb, every moment that made you feel alive.
If one of these posters helps you keep that feeling close, then it’s done its job.
